AN ETRUSCAN BUCCHERO OINOCHOE
Circa Mid 6th Century B.C.
Ovoid in form, on a flaring foot, with a cylindrical neck and trefoil mouth, the neck with a band of knobbed bosses framed by pairs of grooved lines, the shoulders with raised tongues, raised shallow bands below with incised chevrons, the body with knobbed bosses (some missing) alternating with stamped voluted palmettes oriented sideways, with small birds above the volutes, three grooved lines below, the handle molded with a standing figure, and the rotellae with molded masks framed by incised hatching for the hair
