A SET OF SIX RUSSIAN NEOCLASSIC MAHOGANY AND PARCEL-GILT ARMCHAIRS,
circa 1820,
each with tapering rectangular crestrail with foliate carved edge above a further foliate carved splat, the downscrolled arm supports flanking a removable seat covered in red and green-striped cotton on sabre legs, each with unidentified red wax seals including a crowned a coat of arms with a cross, a crowned L or G and R and an additional, more complex, coat of arms with a single feathered wing with a band of five stars dividing it from a rampant lion below, each chair is further marked in black paint 178, and two have lengthy Cyrillic pencil inscriptions, probably dating from the mid-19th century
