A German parcel-gilt beaker and cover
Bamberg, early 18th century, maker's mark HH in oval cartouche, (M. Rosenberg, Der Goldschmiede Merkzeichen, Frankfurt am Main, 1922, vol. 1, p. 248, no. 1096).
Tapering cylindrical and on three ball feet, the detachable domed cover with ball finial, chased with a band of strapwork and foliage on a matted ground, the lower part of the body chased with scenes of deer, wild-boar and hare hunting and with three ribbon-tied laurel-wreath cartouches, each engraved with an inscription, marked on base, the cover unmarked
