A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD, TULIPWOOD AND PARQUETRY TABLE A TRANSFORMATION
Adapted and embellished in the 19th Century from a table de nuit with tambour door, later mounted
Inlaid overall with a foliate rosette-filled trellis pattern, the rectangular hinged top with moulded border fitted with a stay and enclosing a pop-up nest with seven drawers around a central open compartment, the frieze mounted with foliate rosettes and fitted with a hinged leather-lined writing slide, above a hinged fall-front mounted with a relief panel depicting bacchic putti and enclosing three drawers, the sides mounted with ribbon-suspended laurel-wreath handles, on square tapering panelled legs terminating in brass caps
