The illustrations include an attractive image of Cupid fishing for hearts in a stream, in a pierced foliate border, with the motto 'Cupido der kleine Knab Nim[m]t mein Hertz, und alles waß ich hab'; an accomplished image of a pyramid, indicated by a female figure, in a circular border with the motto 'Virtus sola post funera vivit'; an unusual depiction of an apothecary reclining in a laboratory furnished with a furnace and retorts, a globe with symbols of his profession and the words 'Omnia Gloria Dei, et Hominib[us] Salut'; a depiction of Hermes and Death illustrating the power of medicine; and drawings illustrative of the mottoes 'Spes deceptrix' and 'Deo et Amico'. The majority of the entries are by student apothecaries in Nuremberg, April 1738, or Mannheim, 1739-1740.
