Beatrix Potter provided 9 of the 10 illustrations for the poem "A Frog he would a fishing go", a character that would later become familiar to a wider audience as Mr. Jeremy Fisher. The first illustration in the series was a poor imitation prepared by the publisher's themselves. See Linder A History of the Writings of Beatrix Potter (pp. 175-182) for a fascinating account of how these illustrations came to be published in this form, and an enlightening exchange of letters between the artist and publisher.
