CICERO, Marcus Tullius (106-43 B.C.). Opera. Paris: Charles Estienne, 1555-54. 4 volumes in 2, 2° (377 x 236mm). Large woodcut device on general title and title of volume I, small device on titles of volumes III & IV, small woodcut arms of the Cardinal of Lorraine, the dedicatee, on title of volume II, with the final errata leaf in volumes II and IV. (Title of vol. II repaired at inner margin, occasional light waterstaining.) Early eighteenth-century mottled calf, double gilt line border round sides (rebacked). Provenance: Edward Wake (eighteenth-century armorial bookplate). Adams C1647; Renouard 109.5 'édition bien et soigneusement imprimée'. (2)
