LEWIN, William (1747-1795). The Birds of Great Britain, systematically arranged, accurately engraved, and painted from nature; with descriptions including the natural history of each bird, London: for J. Johnson, 1795-1801. 8 volumes in 4, 4° (275 x 230mm). Parallel text in English and French, hand-coloured etched plates of birds and eggs by and after Lewin and his sons. (Occasional spotting). Contemporary calf, spines lettered in gilt with raised bands (extremities worn).
