A pair of these stands with the matching tureens in the form of elephants is in the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, illustrated by W. R. Sargent, The Copeland Collection, Salem, 1991, pp. 206-208, no. 100. A stand, very similar to the present lot, originally in the collection of The Hon. Mrs. Nellie Ionides and now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is illustrated by C. Le Corbeilller, China Trade Porcelain: Patterns of Exchange, New York, 1974, p. 113, no. 48, and also by Hervouët and Bruneau, La Porcelaine des Compagnies des Indes à Décor Occidental, Paris, 1986, p. 105, fig. 4.73.
