Hervouët and Bruneau op.cit. p. 229 suggest that this portrait depicts Queen Juliane Marie of Denmark, second wife of King Frederik V and dates the plate circa 1755 following their marriage in 1752. See D. S. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, London, 1974, pp. 47-48 for a discussion on armorial services with similar border cartouches; the author explains that this border was particularly popular between 1743 and 1752 and often depict views of the Pearl River and the Plymouth Sound.
