La composizione del presente dipinto ebbe grande fortuna, motivo per cui ne esistono varie versioni (cf. l'opera offert a Londra, Sotheby's, 11-VII-2002, lotto 173). Una composizione del tutto analoga, con il particolare della veduta architettonica sullo sfondo a sinistra, figura nella tavola del Tosini, da ascriversi ad una fase più matura dell'artista, offerta a Londra, Christie's, 11-XII-1992, lotto 3.
