the rectangular box with incised lines and applied gilt bees and flowers, the hinged cover applied with the gilded arms of the Borough of Hampstead, the velvet lined interior containing the freedom of the borough and a programme, engraved:

A similar pair, given with the freedom of Umtali, was presented to Sir Stephen and Lady Courtauld in 1957. One from that pair was exhibited in Leslie Durbin, Fifty Years of Silversmithing a retrospective exhibition at Goldsmiths' Hall 6th to 22 July 1982 and is illustrated on page 27 of the exhibition catalogue.
