Signed Masanao, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
A compact model of a fukura-suzume [sparrow] with inlaid horn eyes and heavy staining for the wing- and tail-feathers and the feet, the himotoshi formed by a small hole in the base connecting with a large hole in the back, signed with incised and stained characters in a rounded rectangular reserve on the base Masanao, age cracks
1 1/8 x 1 15/16in. (3.0 x 5.0cm.)
