Details
Grange--Vintage 1990
South Australia. Penfolds
Good labels. Levels into neck
The 1990 vintage was the kind that winemakers only expect to see once or twice in an entire career. The 1990 is without doubt a classic Grange. Voted "red wine of the year" by Wine Spectator magazine in 1995.
Tasting note: deep crimson/purple. Intensely concentrated wine with strong prune/plum/dark chocolate aromas and some liquorice. The palate is rich, ripe and chocolatey with plum/blackberry nuances, a ripe, fine tannin structure, savoury slightly coconut oak, and great length. Classic Grange. A.C.
Perfectly tensioned and balanced. May outlive us all. R.O.P.
