This box is very rare, there are no other example published although a similar pattern with a stag among flowers can also be found on an ink cake kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, no. 30.76.198 and illustrated by Anita Wai-Fong in her article "Ink-making in China", Orientations, Hong Kong June 1997, p.58, fig.8 and 9
