En forme de rouleau déployé, à décor incrusté de nacre et pierres dures, d'une branche de cerisier en fleur, papillons et oiseau, les volutes des pieds rehaussées de motifs de feuilles, fruits et fleurs divers, laqués rouges, ocres et verts

Lot Essay

A scroll-shaped stand from the same period, with a similar inlaid pattern although filled in with lacquer is illustrated in Lee Yu-kuan, Oriental Lacquer Art, published for Oriental House Limited Tokyo, New York/Tokyo 1971, p.207, pl.142. Even if this motif with bird among blossoming cherry tree is typical from the Kangxi period, there are no example of a similar stand inlaid with this kind of decoration
