A CHINESE EXPORT BLACK AND GOLD LACQUER GAMING BOX
Early 19th Century
Of waved rectangular shape, the hinged top decorated with a central Chinoiserie landscape with figures, temples and pagodas beyond, in a repeating foliate border, the serpentine waved sides decorated with similar foliate reserves and landscape views, the fitted and similarly decorated interior with three lidded compartments, the central one removable and containing various mother-of-pearl gaming counters and eight dished lacquer trays painted with suits and Royalty, on mother-of-pearl feet
