A Buen Retiro documentary white biscuit model of a lion
Late 18th Century
Modelled by Angel Torremocha in recumbent pose with its head resting on its front legs, its tail curled beneath its right hind leg, its jaws open and its head turned to its right, its rear and front paws hanging slightly over the edge of the rectangular plinth base, the top of the base incised with a palm frond each side of the lion, the front with Torremocha's incised signature (slight chipping to ears and to edges of base)
