Lot Essay

In 1961 Tériade published Borès, a monograph on the artist devoted to his works from 1925 to 1960. Tériade asked Jean Grenier to write the accompanying text, which would help to situate the artist within the historical context of contemporary art. As with André Beaudin, Tériade was an early admirer and supporter of Borès' work.
