[TEXTILE]. HARRISON, William Henry. Printed textile with small oval portrait of Harrison framed in scrolling leaves, in the background a large image of a rustic log cabin and a large barrel labeled "Hard Cider." [N.p., 1840].
10½ x 10½ in. Cotton chintz, printed in royal blue, edges neatly hemmed, slight stains. Preserved in a sunken mat, glazed in a gilt wood frame. Unexamined out of frame.
Fine graphic produced as yard goods during Harrison's tumultuous 1840 campaign, in which his fictitious log cabin and presumed taste for simple hard cider served as effective emblems of his candidacy. H.R. Colline, Threads of History, 1979, no. 145.
