Partly printed document accomplished and signed ("James Madison") as President, Washington, 21 January 1815. 1 page, a narrow oblong (2 11/16 x 6 11/16 in.), printed scrollwork design in left margin, slit cancellations slightly affect two letters of signature, faint mat-burn, tipped to a larger leaf bearing an engraved portrait. Madison draws a check on the Bank of Columbia for $24, payable to John Sandsford.
