2o (303 x 208 mm). Title printed in red and black, 7 double-page woodcut maps, 104 woodcut maps in text and one diagram (perforated stamp to title K1 and P5, heavy worming to last 2 leaves, map of Venice repaired, some light staining). 19th-century quarter vellum. Provenance: early ink marginalia.
FIRST EDITION, with title page and first gathering from second edition (?). The colophon is dated 1528 and the collation is that of the first edition (Phillips 162), but the title is dated 1534. Bordone's Isolario follows the tradition of the Mediterranean island book, but expanded to to include the World. "A woodcut plan of the City of Mexico before its destruction by Cortez, adorns the 10th page." (Sabin 6417). Phillips 162.
