2o (553 x 396 mm). 23 engraved maps on 29 sheets (including 18 folding and 10 double-page and one single page) by Henry Mouzon, W. Scull, Lewis Evans, Holland and others hand-colored in outline, with additional color to "Province of Quebec." (Title with perforated stamp, library stamp on index leaf, some marginal repairs, chipping or splitting to edges or folds, browning throughout.) 20th-century half leather (defective). Provenance: William Carson, 23 June 1841 (ownership inscription).

Second edition, most maps are dated 1775 some 1774. A very important atlas with large maps of the 11 of the 13 colonies and of French Canada, of the Revolutionary War era, "one of the most authoritative and compreshensive atlases of America..."
