A Goanese ivory figure of Hercules
18th Century
the standing figure with robe draped over his shoulders and across one arm, the heroic figure looking to one side, his left hand clenched above a boars head resting on a tree stump, his other hand held behind his back, a seated hound at his feet, above a rectangular base -- 8 3/8in. (21.3cm.) high, (a few damages).

This figure possibly represents "Hercules resting from his labours". The boar's head depicting that of "The Erymanthian boar". This boar had terrorised the area of Mt. Erymanthus before Hercules drove it into a snow drift and captured the beast.
