Four German fayence polychrome figures of putti emblematic of the seasons
Third quarter of the 18th Century, most probably Braunschweig
Each figure with underglaze blue hair, eyes and nails, Spring with a blue drape, holding a bunch of flowers and with flowers in his hair, Summer supported by a sheaf of corn and with corn in his hair, Autumn squeezing a bunch of grapes into a goblet and with grapes in his hair and Winter with his head wrapped in a blue scarf with a yellow brazier, on rectangular marbled bases (Spring broken through neck, left shoulder and legs and repaired, Summer with crack to neck and sickle lacking, Autumn with chipping to vine leaves, all with some minor chipping to extremities)
