A Vienna (du Paquier) teabowl and saucer
Circa 1730, a shaped shield bearing a coat of arms to the underside of both
The teabowl painted with a continuous scene with Turks at various pursuits in an extensive mountainous landscape with camels, sheep, palm-trees and buildings, the base of the interior with a dragon, the saucer with finely dressed Turks seated barefoot on a large pale-green cushion, smoking pipes and playing backgammon, their shoes in a row nearby (teabowl with two minute chips to rim and slight chipping to footrim, saucer with four minute chips to underside of rim and wear to centre, the area of chipping to rim at 11 o'clock dating from time of manufacture)
