A Meissen group of Beltrame and Columbine
Circa 1741
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, Columbine wearing a gilt-edged beige feathered hat tied with a blue ribbon under her chin, a white ruff, a gilt-edged gilt-flowered red and black bodice, yellow skirt edged with indianische Blumen and pale-brown underskirt edged with gilt diaper panels and scrolling foliage, standing next to Beltrame, Beltrame holding her left hand and gazing into her eyes, his hair en queue, wearing a white ruff, gilt-flowered puce cloak, slashed gilt-edged turquoise jacket with red rosettes, gilt-edged slashed black breeches and puce shoes, a cap tucked under his left elbow, on a shaped oval mound base applied with flowers and foliage (Columbine broken through skirt and base and restored, her head restuck, a flower on base and one feather of hat restored, slight chipping to flowers and foliage, areas of slight wear to gilding, areas of minute wear to enamels)
