Finely painted with pastoral vignettes, the front with a farm-girl and boy fishing in a lake, the reverse with a girl and a boy seated with a bird in a cage, within oval gilt and grisaille ovolo ornament cartouches flanked by shaped pink panels divided by grisaille paterae, the base with a farm-girl and a shepherd by a spring before farm buildings, the cover with a shepherd near a farm-girl bathing in a pool, before buildings and a church, the front edge with gilt and grisaille spheres divided by thin pink panels, the interior of the cover with a tradesman observing four bathing women, two of them naked in a pool and embracing (areas of slight wear to gilding and scratching to enamels, wear to gilt edge of base, interior with flaking to enamels of tradesman's coat), the mounts with a swag thumbpiece
