A Rolls-Royce 40/50hp Silver Ghost Gearbox
This gearbox is stamped with the chassis number 70 LE. According to build sheets for that chassis, the car and hence its gearbox date from October 1922. The records do not note the type of coachwork which this was fitted with, however they do make mention that the engine was an Alpine Eagle unit and the steering was to the most raked 'D' specification. These facts would point to a sporting open car, although the gearbox seems to be a standard unit, and was built in the N Series, again in this period it would have four speeds.
