W.W. Armstrong's touring side is recognised as one of the strongest Australian teams to visit England, the fast-bowling combinaton of J.M. Gregory and E.A. McDonald, backed up by exceptional slow bowlers in Armstrong and Mailey, proving too strong for the English batsmen in the first three Tests.
