A French 18th-century amputation saw, two medical pocket sets and a PHILIPS' POPULAR MANIKIN,
The saw has a steel frame stamped GRANGERET, and a lignum vitae handle and trefoil screw -- 51.5cm. (20¼in.) long. The medical carrying wallets are both made of leather and contain steel instruments. One is stamped in gilt H.R. on the outside and TRUSS & SURGICAL, 121 NEW ST MAPPIN & CO BIRMINGHAM INSTRUMENT MAKERS ; the other is stamped on the inside R. WHITELAW ABERDEEN & NEWCASTLE ON TYNE SURGICAL INSTRUMENT MAKER;
