The chapter ring is graduated with hours III-XII, I-IX, with corresponding marks every hour on the inside edge. The ring and the sprung gnomon at the centre are replacements. The folding latitude arc shows traces of silvering on the scale 0-90°. The horizontal plate is engraved with elaborate scroll decoration and has scalloped edges. The folding scrolls-shaped plummet support retains much of its old silvering and is complete with brass plummet. The glazed compass box in the centre has blued-iron needle with a brass pyramid cap. The base is silvered with OCCASUS, MERIDIES and ORTUS marked. There is a central volvelle, movable via a protruding pin underneath, to adjust the North point along a scale in the base 40°-040°. The horizontal plate has three long screw feet.
