An attractive 19th-Century lacquered-brass Culpeper-type microscope,
unsigned, in a fitted oak case -- 22.1cm. (8¾in.) wide

The body-tube has a sliding eyepiece cover and bears four engraved graduations. There is one objective, engraved 4. The barrel stands on three scroll supports from the circular stage, which stands on three slightly larger supports from the circular base, with a concave mirror between (later). In the (later) red felt-lined case are: a sprung stage holder, stage forceps, two ivory cells and eight four-cell ivory sliders. The case shows pronouced medullary rays.
