A late 19th-Century brass and ferrous metal model of a single cylinder horizontal mill engine,
with brass bound wood lagged cylinder 2¼in. bore x 3in. stroke, cylinder head and valve chest lubricators, centrally mounted valve chest, valve spinndle, tail shaft guide, studded stuffing boxes, pedestal mounted bar type cross head guides, tapered connecting rod with marine type big end bearing, brass main bearings in shaped trunnions and curved spoked flywheel, finished in red and black with black and yellow lining, the wooden bed with brass plated stamped GEORGE. M. LITTLE. MAKER. BOWDON. FEB. 1891, wood base -- 11¼ x 30in. (28.5 x 76.2cm.)
