The rectangular tapestry banner with a bouquet of flowers, in a foliate and ribbon-tied frame, on a pole with flaming finial and fluted column with cabriole legs and pointed pad feet, one leg with restored break

With carved flambeau top on fluted and turned pillar and tripod support, the feet are ridged in the centre; fitted with a panel of old Soho tapestry, 23½ x 19¾ in., woven with a bouquet of flowers in colours on a brown ground, in a frame with carved ribbon and rosette border. £140-0-0.'

The same bouquets, in gros point needlework, featured on tripod pole-screens commissioned from Gillows by William, 4th Earl Fitzwilliam (d. 1833) for Wentworth Woodhouse, Yorkshire (sold in the Wentworth sale, in these Rooms, 8 July 1998, lot 81).
