A fruitwood-cased set of coin weights
Werner von Reidt Wonende. 17th Century
Signed in ink on the inside of the lid with the maker's name Werner von Reidt Wonende, the date Anno 1635 and some other information, with space for scales (missing) and 25 (of 40) brass coin weights, each compartment labelled in ink and each weight with various decoration and the name of the weight, such as PISTOL and GUENE, the inside of the lid with incised geometric decoration and a sliding cover for a compartment containing the smallest weights, the outside of the lid with similar decoration and three brass hooks and eyes
