A fine lacquered-brass Culpeper-type compound monocular microscope
Dollond, London. Late 18th/early 19th Century
Signed on the stage Dollond London, with rack and pinion focusing to the body-tube raised on three scroll supports over the circular stage, this raised on three taller scroll supports over the stepped mahogany plinth base with drawer and concave substage mirror, with six numbered objectives, bull's-eye condensor, lieberkuhn, live box and conical condensor, and other items, contained in the original pyramid-shaped mahogany carrying case
