TWO NEPALESE KUKRIS
Late 19th Century
The first with characteristic single-edged blade, and silver-mounted wooden hilt (cracked) with silver pommel-cap, in original scabbard covered in red velvet with deep silver locket and chape embossed, pierced and chased with foliage, flowers and a sun in splendour, and plaited silver suspension belt secured to the scabbard by a foliate clasp set with a paste stone; the second with plain wooden hilt (minor defects), in original scabbard of black leather with deep silver locket decorated in relief with foliage, and later (?) silver chape decorated with scrollwork
