With earlier tapering double-edged blade from a broadsword with a fuller on both sides incised with running wolf mark, silver cross with acorn finials, swelling ivory grip carved in relief in architectural neo-Gothic taste with pillars surrounding niches inhabited by knights in armour, and pommel-cap carved in the form of a ceiling rose, in iron-mounted tooled leather scabbard, the locket with later applied 'X' in silver, the frog button with later silver Prince of Wales' feathers
