With straight hollow-ground single-edged blade double-edged at the point and etched on each side of the forte with the royal arms and garter motto (some wear and rust-staining), the hilt with fluted 'slotted' guard with later applied fouled anchor, tall fluted pommel, and original grip bound with silver ribbon and plaited silver wire, silversmith's mark of William Kinman
