With colichemarde blade of hollow triangular section with etched panels of foliated strapwork and an inscription (all rubbed), the hilt with boat-shell guard (rear quillon replaced) chased and pierced with foliated scrollwork involving musical instruments, and wooden grip bound with silver ribbon and plaited silver wire
