Entirely of iron, the head with cusped flanges each rising to a blunt central point and chiselled in low relief with a grotesque mask flanked by acanthus foliage, separate spirally fluted baluster finial, the two-stage haft of circular section widening towards the base and chiselled in low relief with running vine branches bearing bunches of grapes, and domed pommel en suite
