A FINE 13-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE

With browned twist octagonal sighted barrel (scattered surface pitting) signed in full on the top flat and rifled with eleven grooves, standing back-sight with two hinged folding leaves calibrated to 150 yards, case-hardened patent breech engraved with a buck-head and with two platinum lines, engraved pierced platinum plug, case-hardened scroll engraved tang engraved with a buck-head, signed detented case-hardened lock engraved with scrollwork and a fallow buck (sear-spring missing), engraved safety-catch, engraved hammer chiselled in relief with a mask on the upper side of the nose, finely figured maple half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, raised cheek-piece, scroll engraved blued iron mounts, hinged circular patch-box cover engraved with two fallow buck in a landscape, trigger-guard with a buck-head, trigger-plate with stylised pineapple finial with a buck-head at the centre, blued set trigger (mechanism defective), silver escutcheon on the underside of the butt, horn fore-end cap, iron sling mounts, original horn-tipped ramrod, and some original finish, Birmingham proof marks
