A PAIR OF 28-BORE SCOTTISH ALL-STEEL FLINTLOCK BELT PISTOLS
Third quarter of the 18th Century
With scroll engraved four-stage barrels octagonal at the muzzle and fluted at the breech (one loose from the fore-stock), scroll engraved locks, engraved stocks inlaid with silver strapwork and roundels, ram's horn butts with vacant silver escutcheon on each side, silver-headed triggers and prickers each engraved with an expanded flower (one pricker-head replaced), three engraved silver bands on the underside of each stock, engraved steel belt hooks, and turned iron ramrods
