A French gilt-brass and Limoges enamel mounted striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm

The anglaise riche case with fluted pilasters to the angles, the sides mounted with dark crimson Limoges enamel panels decorated with the profile portraits of Renaissance gentlemen within cartouches, the enamel dial overlaid with an engraved and pierced mask designed with mythical beasts, torches and an heraldic shield amidst scrolling foliage, with gilt-painted Roman numerals to the chapter ring, plain gilt-metal disc to the centre, gilt hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on gong via two hammers to the back plate with punched stamp for Guy Lamaille and numbered 1274, also stamped PATENT SURETY POLLER
