Drocourt, No.9917, retailed by Bryson's, Paris. Circa 1875
The cannelee case engraved with trailing flowers and leaves, with oval bevelled glass viewing panel to the top, the sides mounted with pink porcelain panels decorated with gilt-framed reserves painted with scenes of birds flying amidst neoclassical gardens, each with a lake and castle in the distance, the dial similarly decorated with birds before a farmstead, with gilt-bordered white-painted Roman chapter ring, the centre decorated with artistic trophies and with retail signature BRYSON'S PARIS, with blued steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, with strike/repeat on gong to the back plate stamped for Drocourt and numbered 9917, the case with repeat number to the base plate
