A French engraved brass and porcelain-mounted miniature carriage timepiece
Margaine, No.100012. Circa 1880
The oval case engraved with leafy designs against a stippled ground, mounted with Sèvres-blue bowed porcelain panels to sides and rear, each painted with reserves of flowers within gilt-painted and red jewelled borders, the conforming dial embellished with white enamel and red jewels and painted with a scene of a couple fishing on a river bank, with white painted Roman chapter ring and pierced and blued steel quatreform hands, the single barrel movement with silvered platform to cylinder escapement and with punched stamp for Margaine on the back plate also numbered 100012
