A French gilt-brass and porcelain-mounted miniature carriage timepiece
A. Dumas, No.60, retailed by Hamilton & Co., Calcutta & Simla. Circa 1885
Of lantern form and with loop suspension to the top, each side mounted with pink porcelain panels painted with reserves of flowers within gilt-painted and white enamel jewelled borders, glazed rear door, the conforming dial painted with figures of Cupid flying and recumbent, with gilt-bordered Roman chapter ring, blued steel beetle hands, the base plate inscribed HAMILTON & CO. Calcutta & Simla, the single barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, with punched signature to the back plate A. DUMAS and numbered 60
