Drocourt, No.16013. Circa 1870
The rococo case modelled with amorini to front and rear and cast with foliage and trailing floral garlands, the sides mounted with pink porcelain panels, each painted with principal scene of Cupid with a maiden within gilt borders, with further vignette of a cottage below and gilt latticework ornament above, with further panel to the top painted with a scene of two children in a garden, sliding glass panel to the rear, the dial painted with a farmyard and hens, with scene of a child picking flowers below, with Roman chapter ring and subsidiary alarm ring below, blued steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on gong to the back plate with punched stamp for Drocourt and numbered 16073
