The case with brass handle to brass-lined triple pad top, with fabric backed brass fishscale sound frets to the sides and brass-lined front door, on brass bracket feet, the dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the matted centre with date aperture and recessed silvered signature plaque inscribed Geo.e Burgess London., with blued steel hands, silvered strike/silent ring in the arch above, the five pillar twin wire fusee movement with verge escapement, strike and trip repeat on bell, the back plate engraved with leafy sprigs and scrolls around a vase, with further leafy engraving to the movement securing brackets
